Tron Bonne vs. Roll Caskett vs. Little Wing Solfege Overture

Some things I find just leave me speechless.

Some things I just say WTF is that:

Either way, a major part of my music appreciation came from playing early video games. So it would be natural that this would appeal to me.

More of this stuff... there is tons of it:

Heir ou demain - Sergei Gainsbourg

What can we say? There is a whole catalogue of music that has not touched our ears. But thanks to the magic of the Internet...

Gloria Gaynor - I am what I am

I am sick today, so I have been watching movies on Netflix. Just saw "Kiss me Guido" and this song was in the closing credits.

I love these low-budget indie comedies because they always play cool soundtracks throughout the movie. And you can find some real gems in there if you keep your ear open.

For example, "Night Visitor" from Rupert Hitzig (1989) has a John Leffler song "This is the Love" in the closing scene and credits. It's hard to find any information about it online.

But anyway, I have some time and nothing much to do so I will keep watching, and listening.

CAN - Paperhouse

I found this group while listening to Headless Heroes "See My Love". This funky video was in the youtube mix for HHs. At first, I thought, that is an ugly lead singer... and what is he doing with a bunch of shirt-less hippies in an early 70s BlackSabbath/Deep Purple style video with the psychedelic background???

But at 2:52... they start cookin'!!!

Next night, I cranked the video the living room setup and realized how intricate this song really is. These musicians all had classical training. Anyway, I am finding other songs by them and find them amazingly intriguing.

Alela Diane and the Headless Heroes

Heard this song on WREK 90.5 FM on my way to the Daycare facility to deliver a Crystal Castles arcade game that I just fixed up.

It is "See my Love" by Headless Heroes. Lead singer is Alela Diane, who's voice is absolutely haunting.

Reminded me of Annie Haslam
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annie_Haslam
whom I first heard on the college radio station while driving on E. Ponce. way back circa 1997. It was a Renaisance song, so I did some research... well music research back then consisted of going to the record store or the Goodwill and looking through the vinyls LPs. I eventually found several Reneisance albums, and also got a chance to see Annie at the Variety Playhouse. I took Talia with my on that excursion, and got Annie to sign my Novela LP.
